Tang Chi Couture is founded by Tang Chi Fan, also known as Maggie Fan, an emerging fashion designer born in Taiwan and currently based in New York.
Maggie draws deeply from her personal stories, emotions, and surroundings to shape her creative process. Her design philosophy centers on feminism, strength, and self-realization, often exploring the intimate dialogue between the body and the garment. She challenges traditional boundaries of form and space, while constantly experimenting with textures, techniques, and unexpected material combinations.
Graduating from Parsons School of Design in 2024, Maggie chose to deepen her path in fashion by dedicating herself to the world of couture. With a profound appreciation for couture, Maggie is devoted to the artistry of craftsmanship—valuing the “hand” as the soul of her practice. Her vision is to create garments that are not only bespoke and exquisite, but also poetic in storytelling. Each piece is defined by sculptural silhouettes, intricate textile development, and an unparalleled attention to detail. From this philosophy, she founded Tang Chi Couture—a name drawn from her Mandarin birth name, Tang Chi Fan—an intentional return to her roots and an embrace of her identity.
In Tang Chi Couture, all of the pieces are crafted by hand, defined by story.
Her earlier works under her “unofficial” label, MA.GI OFFICIAL, have garnered international recognition. They have been featured in publications such as V MAGAZINE, The Forumist, Tush Magazine (worn by Julia Fox), Schön! Magazine, and she has been interviewed by Vogue China, Cold Magazine, and Not Just a Label for her graduate collection.
